busy with the busy busy

grand exit, originally uploaded by Rachel-B.

I always have a backlog of photos to process and possibly upload to flickr. Right now, though, that log is extra large, as I’ve been working my way through editing some older pics this past week. Last January (as in, of 2008!), I went down to Waco, TX, to attend the wedding of one of my childhood friends, Brianna. Conveniently enough, Brianna’s parents are best friends with my own, and so we saw a lot of each other until they moved to California when we were in Elementary school.

Brianna’s mom, Marj, asked me if I would take pictures at their rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and while the girls were getting ready, and I was happy to help in any way I could! So, why did it take so long to process these? I think the main problem was that there was SO many of them - at least 500. A lot of them were so similar, it quickly got tedious, especially when all of them needed color correction. So I kept putting it off, putting it off, putting it off.

With their one year anniversary approaching, though, I KNEW I needed to get these done! So over the last week, I buckled down, and edited photos every night. I haven’t even downloaded anything new from my camera, because I knew I would be too tempted to look at all the new photos! (From my new camera! From my birthday photostroll!)

Happy, I finished editing last night, and have DVDs packaged up to send down to California! I uploaded my favorites to flickr (you can see them here), and now I get to download all my new photos! Yay!

Incidentally, I am going to Egypt this summer with Marj and her husband Ken, their son and daughter-in-law (and my friends!) Nathan and Christine, and my mom! It should be a really fun trip!
